Hi everybody!

I’m starting this blog to share my creative interests with others.  I design many of my own patterns for crochet and beadwork. One of my 2012 resolutions is to build up an inventory of handcrafted goodies to be better prepared for local craft shows. This week I’ve been making star hats in different colors, especially Caribbean. This is one of my favorite patterns, because it’s quick and easy. But even an experienced crocheter finds it difficult to figure out the pattern just by looking at it! (Hint: those are NOT front post doubles). Pattern includes 7 variations. To order the pattern ($3.50) click the Paypal link below. You will receive the pdf by email within 48 hours (usually within 2).

I spent most of 2011 in a nursing home, and am glad to be home.  (Have you ever tried to describe a #8 steel crochet hook to a husband? I described it, told him EXACTLY where to find it and got a blank stare and a mumbled “uh, it’s not there.” When I got home, it was right where I said it was!)

I also like cooking–especially simple, inexpensive foods like soup sandwiches.  Here’s the recipe:

8 slices bread

1 can cream of chicken soup

1/2 soup can of milk

leftover chicken, ham, or turkey

8 slices Velveeta cheese

Preheat oven to 350. Line a cookie sheet with foil. lay out the bread slices. Mix soup with milk and spoon it over bread. Top with meat, then cheese. Bake until cheese melts.

A few years ago I designed an Excel app that turned childrens’ names into cute wall posters listing some of God’s promises with the letters of the name. Now that I have a computer that makes pdf files, I can email these without losing formatting.  I’m planning to offer them for $3 once I work out the logistics (quantity discounts will be available for multiple orders.) But for a limited time, you can request a free one, so I can work out the logistics. Email your request to judy33873 at gmail.com. Please let me know if it arrived ok, Comments and suggestions appreciated. I think these would make a great gift for grandchildren, baby showers, or even an outreach tool to introduce others to God’s promises.
