Today’s recipe is for the ultimate comfort food: the chocolate chip cookie ( a slightly tweaked version of the recipe-on-the-bag, thuis cookie is slightly lower in fat and softer:

Judy’s double chip cookies

3 sticks margarine

2 cups brown sugar, packed

1 cup white sugar

1 Tbsp vanilla

4 eggs

1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 bag butterscotch chips (or peanut butter or milk chocolate)

1 tsp soda

1/2 tsp salt

4 1/2 c flour

Cream sugars and margarine together. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in chips, soda and salt. Stir in flour. Drop by rounded spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 until edges are golden brown.
